It’s been a roller coaster couple of weeks. We witnessed the heart shattering carnage in Paris and Mali. Recoiled in disgust at the prospect of eating genetically modified salmon. Saw surprising climate leadership from Alberta, of all places. And, today, we are hearing the first bewildered comments from newly arrived Syrian refugees, who are being given warm welcomes by perfect strangers. If you are carrying a full head and heart, and need to give it a wring-out, try these creative prompts from Rookie magazine. Or if you prefer, just dance it out:
Got inventory? Sure you you do! If you offer services by appointment, consultations, classes, retreats, or workshops (or simply have products for sale), you probably know you could be making more out of the digital tools that are out there. If you sell stuff, offer bookable services, or teach— in real life or online—we should talk.
Many of my customers are holding out on setting up e-commerce because they have been led to believe it costs a lot and is a considerable hassle. Conveniently for you, I have (along with my trusty associate Angela “Fromage” Waddington) developed a fancy, affordable and ultra-functional system that fits nicely onto your existing WordPress site. I urge you to start NOW: pick 3 products and give it a go. Watch your sales increase and your communication & administration time decrease.
This Sunday, November 29, in cities all over the world, people will be marching for climate action. Dubbed “100% Clean Economy is 100% Possible”, marches are happening almost everywhere (including Salt Spring: Sunday at 1 pm at Centennial Park) . One notable exception is Paris. France is still under a state of emergency and there will be little of the grassroots, in-the-streets and in-your-face pageantry that accompanies— and makes bearable—these high stakes UN climate summits. So Greenpeace has come up with a nifty plan: come out and march in your town, and sign on to “March 4 Me” on behalf of someone in the City of Lights. Merci…
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. May it be. Hope has two daughters: anger and courage. May these two forces come together in Paris, and make beautiful, passionate climate talks. much love to you beauties! xoxo Andrea |
